Franz Müller grew up in Karlsruhe. He studied fine arts and cybernetics at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf under Gerhard Richter and Oswald Wiener, followed by film and television at the Kunsthochschule für Medien in Cologne. Since then, he has written and directed six feature films and several short and experimental films. He is co-editor of the film magazine Revolver and has long been part of the Filmclub 813 in Cologne and the Filmclub Berlin. In 2016, he founded the film production company Mizzi Stock Entertainment together with Eva-Maria Weerts and has also worked as a producer since then. He teaches screenwriting at the Academy of Media Arts in Cologne.
